Atlantic Spotted Dolphins

Atlantic Spotted Dolphins look quite similar to their better-known cousins Bottlenose Dolphins.

Their scientific name is 'Stenella frontalis'. They can be found in the Gulf Stream of the North Atlantic Ocean.

They develop their distinctive spotted markings as they get older.

Atlantic Spotted Dolphins are about 2.26 m (7 ft 5 in) long and weigh about 140 kg (310 lb). There is a population of about 100,000.

They are social dolphins and keen bow-riders.
